Neha and Rohit

One of the most spectacular events we had the pleasure of being a part of in 2012 was Neha and Rohit & Karan and Nicky's wedding celebrations. (Just to give a background, Neha and Karan are siblings) They had a week long functions hosted at Mystic Valley Resort, Igatpuri.

Neha's family was fully involved in making her dream wedding come true, they pulled out every glitch in the way to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It's indeed a task to pen down this biig wedding. Finally we have settled on a few photos, hope we do justice to the keenly designed wedding.

Having your own Mother and Aunt as Wedding Planners on board was by far the most amazing thing we witnessed in this wedding. They had put in months to get every detail and everything that a bride could wish for, for her fairy tale wedding. We remember Neha's mother welled up during her speech on the Sangeet evening when she was mentioning how her sister ran day and night to put together whatever Neha wanted. When we walked through every event, we were blown away by how beautifully it had been all put together.

Well, needless to say the wedding card and other necessary stationery was impeccable and one of its kind. We learnt that Neha's mother and her Aunt do this professionally. We recommend them to every bride because everyone tells you that weddings are stressful and traumatic to put together, but if you have planners with amazing taste and excellent execution skills you will actually be able to thoroughly enjoy your own wedding like they did theirs. They were so well organized and in tune with the vision throughout the time that the whole process was a delight!

Neha's family worked days and nights to create magical little touches like a super cute photobooth during the pool party, personalized photo tags for everyone's luggage, a welcome booklet with information about each function, thank you tags on our welcome gift baskets/ survival kits and even signage boards scattered around the venue.

Highlight of the wedding was the beautiful resort which had a huge pool. We guess that was the inspiration behind this totally rad party by the pool :)

Neha and Rohit's kaleera theme wedding also took place there.

Neha and Rohit (Wedding)

There was alot to look forward to the day Neha & rohit were going to tie the knot. A mixture of emotions, alot of running around and of course the most important part, to feel & sink in every bit of it.

Haldi

We like to call this haldi a 2hr vs 2min function. :P

We witnessed and captured a beautiful sunset and proceeded to the the main wedding in the evening.

Baraat

However modern your wedding is, a super energetic band and a super duper enthusiastic set of friends is a necessity to make it look lively. Rohit's baraat was one of its kind that we have ever seen. And adding to our delight was the area where the sehera's were being tied which was perfectly lit!

So right before the seherabandi there was an extremely important session happening in Rohit's friends room. The liquor making session. Red bull + absolut + buckets + bisleri bottles + mugs + music & obviously click-me-making-this-crazy-drink pictures

The drinks were strategically placed in cars, equal distance from each other. The baraat took nothing less than 4 hours to cover a distance of 150m :O We were so in sync with their mood and super charged with the uneding redbull vodka mix (which was amazing btw) that we could have clicked them for straight eight hours without getting tired. The delightful part of the baraat was when we were repeatedly asked to leave our cameras and dance with them :D We surely did take turns to do that since I don't think we will ever witness this energy and excitement anywhere.
To sum it up this baraat was a perfect blend of situations;

Danced like there is no tomorrow,

Ear-deafening dhols,
[Witness in this picture, the dholwala being fed redbull vodka for the much needed energy]

Joyful tears

A dozen of sloshed baraati's &

Of course a team of friends marching with an indian parasol to escort the bridegroom to the washroom :P This super enthu crowd definitely made this entire wedding experience a delight!

Wedding

The theme for this wedding was based on kaleera. The entire venue followed this theme from the entrance which gave a full-on filmy feeling :) the walkway along the pool till the mandap decorated with long kaleera hangings.

A pool side wedding on a cold winter night made everyone a bit lazy & snuggle into their shawls except the bride of course who had a happydent smile throughout the night :)

There was one such ritual wherein the bride's brother had to bless his sister and ask her to be obedient with her in-laws the way she is at home to which they had a hearty laughter. How could we possibly miss this!

While taking the phera's there was one such instance when Neha took Rohit's hand over her shoulder, this moment felt so special and magical!

The vidaai had a dramatic start and end. Started with Rohit lifting Neha in his arms till the doli where she bid goodbye to her parents home by she threw back five handfuls of rice over her head and ended with Neha sitting in thedoli which was carried by her brother's.

Neha and Rohit (Pool Party)

We guess Rohit and Neha had what you can call "A Big Fat (Fairy Tale) Indian Poolside wedding. Mystic Valley, Igatpuri was just perfect to have this awesome party by the pool.

The entire theme - from the dressed up bottles to the floating ducks in the pool, hats, fancy flower hair clips, flower garlands incorporated a festive but beach-y theme.

The beer bongs didn't spare a single person present that day :P We are sure everyone who attended this party will be having such fabulous memories and stories to tell.

This party was surely a major highlight of the wedding.
